On its way to achieving the one million units milestone by 2027, Hyundai (pronounced Hyun-day) will bring an onslaught of new products featuring varying powertrains. With the electrified Creta and Inster confirmed for India, the South Korean auto major will give a generational update to its Grand i10 NIOS in 2027. But before the hatchback, the new Venue will arrive next year. Hyundai is also studying the two’s EV iterations.
In its second generation, the Grand i10 NIOS has been around since 2019 with a facelift coming only last year. SUVs continue to dent the hatchback segment, with the car averaging over 5,300 units month-on-month. For reference, similarly priced Suzuki Swift boasts a monthly average of over 14,000 cars. Hyundai’s intention to keep the petrol model going while most of them shift to EVs is a good sign for ICE cars.
Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Specifications (current model)
New improvements could be in the form of a refreshed front fascia, larger touchscreen infotainment system, tyre pressure monitoring system and more. It is currently underpinned by a 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine generating 83 hp and 114 Nm of pull force. Hyundai may bring back the discontinued 1.0-litre turbocharged mill with the update. The Grand i10 NIOS-based Aura and Exter may see similar updates as well.
