Skoda has released the first design sketches of its highly-awaited upcoming electric SUV, the Elroq. The new Skoda Elroq will be the brand's first car to feature its new 'Modern Solid' design language. It will be the second Skoda EV and will join the India-bound Enyaq iV electric SUV.
The Skoda Elroq debuts the brand's new 'Modern Solid' design language, which will be offered on multiple future cars from the Czech automaker. It comes with a differently styled front fascia, which Skoda calls 'Tech-Deck face'. The iconic butterfly grille is replaced by a newly styled and smaller grille, while the SKODA lettering is added instead of logo.
It comes with a new split headlamp setup with the main headlamp unit placed on the lower side and LED DRLs on top. Moreover, the headlamps sport Skoda's LED Matrix tech. There is a newly styled front bumper that houses a large faux air intake. The small electric SUV is finished in a new Timiano Green colour scheme.
The rear profile shares styling cues from the existing Skoda SUVs including the Enyaq iV and Karoq. It comes with wraparound LED tail-lights, a roof-integrated sunroof and dual-tone lower bumper. The SUV features SKODA Lettering finished in dark chrome.
The cabin styling is simple and in-line with other Skoda cars on sale in global markets. The Skoda Elroq has a dual-tone dashboard with a large free-standing 13-inch touchscreen infotainment display in the centre. There are limited physical switchgears placed under the middle air-con vents. It has a twin-spoke steering wheel with SKODA lettering and multiple buttons for different functions. It will come with a digital instrument console.
Skoda reveals that the Elroq will come in four interior finishes - Studio, Loft, Lodge and Suite. The company has used Recytitan and Technofil materials for the interior. Recytitan can be found in the door panels, seat covers, dashboard, arm-rest and knee-rest in the Loft interior. Technofil is found in the interior of the Lodge version.
