Suzuki Jimny has been a popular SUV in the international market. The new-gen Jimny made its debut nearly 5 years ago and now it is expected to get the hybrid and electric variants in future. The story does not end here, the pickup truck variant of Jimny is also under development, as hinted by Suzuki Australia. The Jimny pickup could join the existing 3-door and 5-door SUV lineup.
Suzuki has officially announced that they will bring the fully electric avatar of Jimny. It is most likely to launch by 2030. The hybrid model is also expected to make its way to the market, however, it is not officially confirmed. There are just hints given by Michael Pachita, General Manager at Suzuki Australia, that a Jimny hybrid could arrive in the future.
Suzuki is planning to launch the pickup truck variant for the popular Jimny. It is currently in the works! Micheal Pachota at the recently-held event suggested that Jimny would come with two seats at the front and a load bed at the back.
The automaker has also showcased the Jimny Sierra Pickup Style concept at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon. The concept model was closer in length to the 5-door Jimny. Based on the wide-body version of the regular Jimny, Suzuki could launch the production-ready model in the near future.
