Tata Motors is readying a wide range of new models for the fast-growing Indian market. The company will launch the long-awaited Curvv SUV Coupe in both ICE and electric powertrains and the Electric derivative of the Harrier in the next few months. Not just new models, Tata will also add facelifts and new versions of the existing models in the country. The country's top-selling SUV, the Nexon compact SUV will receive an all-new CNG version.
The Tata Nexon CNG was showcased to the public at the first edition of the Bharat Mobility Show earlier this year. Ahead of the official launch, the Nexon CNG has been spotted testing in the real world. While the launch timeline is yet to be announced, we expect the new CNG SUV will be launched during the festive season. The spotted model was finished in a white paint scheme and the report claims that the SUV was standing in line at a CNG filling station near Pune.

The Nexon CNG will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, which makes it the only model in its category to get a CNG option with a turbo unit. In the standard petrol mode, the powertrain produces 118hp and 170Nm of torque. The power and torque outputs are expected to be reduced to 100hp and 150Nm, respectively, in the CNG mode. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is expected that the SUV could also receive a six-speed AMT gearbox.
The compact SUV will come with a twin-cylinder setup, which we have already seen on the Tiago and the Tigor CNG. The CNG tanks are placed under the boot floor, while the spare wheel is positioned underneath the car. It will have a single ECU for a quick shift between CNG to petrol mode. Moreover, the SUV will start directly in CNG mode.
Tata Sierra will be launched during festive season - around Diwali - it will be marketed as a lifestyle SUV and will sit between the Curvv and Harrier in Tata line-up
