Tata Tigor EV is the electric version of the Tigor subcompact sedan. The electric vehicle stands out from the standard sedan. It has unique design elements both on the exterior and interior. In its first generation, the car has spawned two facelifts in the past.
Tata Tigor EV’s exterior provides a similar silhouette as its ICE counterpart. However there are a few design elements that make it stand out.
On the outside it gets .ev specific blue accents on the humanity line, fog lamps, alloy wheels and the rear bumper. In addition, ev badges have been added to the front, sides and rear.
Interior: Tigor EV’s interior like its petrol counterpart offers a dual-tone colour theme. Like the outside, the inside provides blue accents around AC vents and the instrument cluster. Further there is a rotary dial instead of a gear level.
Features: New Tigor EV gets a 7-inch HARMAN touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include automatic climate control, cooled glove, boxUSB port, 12V power outlets, multi-mode regen and more.
Safety: Tigor EV offers safety features like dual airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution), corner stability control, rear parking sensors, cruise control, a rear view camera, iTPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) among others.
Tata Tigor Electric price in India starts from Rs 12.49 lakh and extends up to Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in a total of 4 variants.
Tigor EV is powered by a 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is paired to an electric motor. Together they deliver a power output of 74 bhp with 170 Nm of peak torque. It offers two Drive Modes - Drive and Sport.
Tata Tigor EV can be charged using either a 15A power socket or a DC fast charger. The sedan takes around 9.4 hours to be fully charged using a standard power socket while the DC fast charger can recharge the battery to 80 percent in just 59 minutes. There is also a home charging solution available for the vehicle by the manufacturer.
The car has a range of ARAI-claimed 315 kms on a single charge, which is more than enough for daily commutes and short trips.
There are 3 colour options available on the Tata Tigor EV. They include Daytona Grey, Magnetic Red and Signature Teal Blue.
Tigor Electric offers a range of 315 kms on a single full charge.
There is no direct competition to the Tata Tigor EV in the Indian market. However, considering its price point, the Citroen eC3 can be a good alternative.
