Car manufacturers are getting aggressive with their product strategy, as multiple new cars in the mass-market segment will arrive in the month of December 2024. While Kia will announce the prices of the Syros compact SUV on December 19, Toyota will launch the new Camry in the second week. Two important products will be launched in the first week of December 2024 including the New-gen Amaze and Skoda Kylaq. Let's talk about these two cars in detail -
Skoda had announced the base variant of the Kylaq SUV earlier this month. Available at a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Skoda Kylaq will be the brand's smallest SUV in the country. It will be available in 4 trims - Classic, Signature, Signature+ and Prestige. Full price list will be released on December 2, 2024. Moreover, Skoda will officially start accepting bookings for the Kylaq on the same day.
The Skoda Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 115hp and 178Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The compact SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and others.
The much-awaited new-gen Honda Amaze sub-4 meter sedan will finally go on sale in the Indian market on December 4, 2024. Official bookings for the sedan are yet to be commenced; however, Honda dealers have started accepting pre-orders. In fact, Honda has started dispatching the new-gen Amaze to dealerships. It will directly rival the all-new Maruti Dzire, which has recently been launched in our market.
The new-gen Honda Amaze will receive radical design and interior changes, which will be in sync with the Elevate and City sedan. It shares the cabin layout with the new Elevate mid-sized SUV. The sedan will receive features like a bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Camera-based ADAS system, wireless phone charging, Lane-watch camera, six airbags, and others. It will continue to be powered by a single 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
Renault opens its largest global design centre in Chennai, marking a key step in expanding its presence in both Indian and international markets.
