Isuzu has updated its 2022 V-Cross lifestyle pick-up truck and mu-X SUV with an all-new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
With the advancement in technology and new car buyers drifting towards feature-rich vehicles, Isuzu has finally stepped up its game. The Japanese automaker has now upgraded the V-Cross and mu-X with a larger and advanced 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, thereby replacing the older 7-inch unit. The new unit gets mobile connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Accordingly, the prices of the Isuzu V-cross and mu-X have been hiked by a considerable amount. This price hike is a result of increasing raw material costs due to recent geopolitical issues. The price of V-cross has gone up by Rs. 1.41 lakhs and for mu-X by Rs. 2.56 lakhs, effective from 4th April 2022.
The Isuzu V-Cross and mu-X share the same BS 6 compliant 1898cc engine with identical power figures of 163 bhp and 360 Nm of torque. The pick-up gets features like Bi-LED projector headlamps, 18 inches alloy wheels, side steps for convenient ingress and egress among others. Passive entry and start system, rear parking sensor and camera. The vehicle comes equipped with a Shift-on-the-fly 4WD system. Safety is top-notch with 6 airbags, Hill descent control, ESC, TCS and steel underbody guard. It is available in 3 variants, Z 4X2 AT, Z 4X4 MT and the top of the line Z Prestige 4X4 AT prices for which range from Rs. 23 lakhs to Rs. 27 lakhs (ex-showroom). The V-Cross takes on the likes of the recently launched Toyota Hilux.
Meanwhile, the Isuzu mu-X is a full-size premium 7 seater SUV, rivalling the likes of Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Skoda Kodiaq in its segment. On the outside, its design looks similar to the V-cross when looked at from the front. Available in both 4X2 and 4X4 versions, the SUV is based on a heavy-duty ladder construction chassis. The interior provides all premium quilted leather seats and soft-touch panels. Price of Isuzu mu-X starts from Rs 35 lakhs for the 4x2 AT while the top of the line 4x4 AT comes in at Rs 37.90 lakhs (ex-showroom).
