Honda Cars India recently introduced the facelifted version of the City in India with prices starting from Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The new sedan gets a mild exterior redesign, added features, and updated powertrain options. Interestingly, the 2023 City’s (petrol and hybrid options) have a lower entry-level price point than the outgoing models. We take a detailed look to see how they differ.

As you can see from the table above, starting prices for both the 2023 City petrol and strong-hybrid variants are lower than before. This is because Honda have introduced new entry-level trims for both models. The City Facelift entry level SV trim is now Rs 38,000 cheaper than the outgoing model. As for the strong-hybrid model, it too gets a new base V variant which is Rs 1 lakh cheaper than before.
However, looking at the prices of the facelifted model’s variants that are the same with the old City, they have actually increased. The 2023 City petrol trims from V to ZX see a price increase ranging from Rs 41,000 to Rs 70,000. Meanwhile, the strong-hybrid’s ZX top model is now Rs 50,000 dearer.
Honda Cars India has also given the 2023 City Facelift added creature comforts and safety features. The sedan now features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and rain-sensing wipers. New safety equipment include up to 6 airbags and a Tire-Pressure Monitoring System.
The Japanese automaker has also given the facelifted City ADAS features like Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control on both the manual and automatic petrol variants. Previously, ADAS was available only on the City strong-hybrid.
Speaking of the Honda City Facelift strong-hybrid, the manufacturer has added a new feature to the ADAS Tech called “Low-Speed Follow” function. This allows the driver to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. The 2023 model also gets "Lead Car Departure Notification System", alerting the driver when the vehicle ahead starts moving.
