Maruti Suzuki has been the undisputed market leader for decades. In fact, its Swift model has been one of the best-selling hatchbacks in the country for years. Now, the company has updated the Swift for 2023 which will now offer the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) feature as standard. The hatchback is available in four variants; LXi, VXi, ZXi, and Zxi Plus. Earlier, ESP was only offered in top-spec ZXi Plus trim but now the New Maruti Swift will offer ESP as a standard feature across all variants.
Maruti Suzuki has made no big changes to the hatchback. This suggests that the same design and features are carried over to the 2023 version of the Swift. In addition, the updated Swift is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine which makes 89 bhp of power output and 113 Nm of peak torque. The automaker also offers its hatchback with either a 5-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission option. It gets a factory-fitted CNG option as well.
In conclusion, adding ESP as a standard feature is a welcome move by the brand. However, Maruti has not confirmed if the new Swift is compliant with RDE norms. Expect the carmaker to update its Swift with BS6 phase II compliant engines soon.
Furthermore, the company in order to woo the end consumer added certain new connectivity features recently to models like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Ertiga and the XL6.
