Mahindra & Mahindra teased 5 new electric SUV concepts under the Born Electric Vision Program in August 2022. Out of these EV concepts, Mahindra BE.05 has been spotted on roads for the first time in Chennai. The company’s first-born electric SUV is expected to launch in the company sometime during 2024.
Find out what the test mule of the Mahindra BE.05 has revealed:
The BE.05 is a part of Mahindra's Born Electric range of pure electric SUVs which are based on the INGLO platform. The test mule seems to be similar to the electric SUV concept unveiled last year. However, it has transformed to some extent. From the outside, it features a new LED light bar while the massively flared wheel arches seem to have been toned down. Besides, the rearview wing mirror camera has now been replaced with conventional ORVMs.
Furthermore, the BE.05 is likely to come with semi-active suspension and brake-by-wire tech as standard. Other key elements include drive modes, front storage and ADAS with Level 2+ autonomous capability.
Mahindra's BE range of electric SUVs will be available in both single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The total output is expected to be between 228-282 bhp. According to the automaker, the SUV would be capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in just 5-6 seconds and could come powered by a 60 kWh battery.
The battery would take around 30 minutes to get charged from 10-80 percent using a 175 kW fast charger.
The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA comes with substantial changes in terms of styling, features and mechanics. Both ICE-powered and electric versions are revealed.
