Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the new-gen Swift with a new Z-Series petrol engine. Now, the automaker is planning to bring a CNG version of the new Swift. Expect the launch in the coming months.
With the launch of the fourth-gen Swift, Maruti debuted a Z-Series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This engine can produce a maximum power of 80 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. Once the CNG mode is available, the overall output will be affected. Plus, it is expected to be paired with only a manual transmission.
According to Maruti, the new Z-Series engine is 10 percent more fuel efficient than its outgoing K-Series engine. When running on CNG, it is expected to return better mileage. The latest Swift offers a 24.80 kmpl fuel efficiency using a manual gearbox, and 25.75 kmpl with the automatic transmission. The CNG variant of the Swift is likely to offer a mileage of over 32km/kg.
The Swift Petrol is offered in 5 variants - Lxi, Vxi, Vxi (O), Zxi, and Zxi Plus. However, the Swift CNG is likely to be available in select variants.
Talking about the pricing, the new Swift is priced from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the CNG variants, Maruti is likely to make it about Rs 90,000-95,000 costlier than its petrol variants.
