Renault Cars has just unveiled the all-new Duster globally. This is the third generation of the SUV, featuring all-new styling and a revamped interior. The new Renault Duster is expected to hit showrooms internationally next year and will come to India in 2025. We take a closer look.
The third-gen Renault Duster retains its familiar boxy proportions but in a new avatar. At the front, the SUV gets slim headlights with Y-shaped LED DRLs, a sleek-looking new grille and a large air dam with a rugged skid plate. Moving to the side, it gets muscular, squared-off wheel arches, new dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, rear door handles on the C-Pillar, and a strong shoulder line.
The rear end features LED taillights with a Y-shaped design, a sculpted bootlid with a spoiler, and a grey skid plate similar to the one on the front. Overall, the design is more rugged and off-road oriented than the last-gen model.
Renault has given the new Duster a brand-new interior as well. The Y-motif continues inside as well into the air vents, while the dashboard is less cluttered than before. Feature highlights include a 10.1-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, auto climate control, wireless charging, ambient lighting, electric sunroof, ventilated front seats and more.
While it did not reveal the details, Renault will likely offer the new Duster with up to three powertrain options globally. For India, the company could consider the 1.2-litre mild hybrid making 140 bhp of max power or the 1.6-litre strong-hybrid with 150 bhp of max power. Transmission options will include both manual and automatic gearboxes.
Globally, the new Duster is slated to go on sale by early- to mid-2024. According to the latest reports, the SUV will be introduced in India sometime in 2025.
Upon launch, the third-gen Duster will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Škoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder.
