The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is preparing to launch 3 new utility vehicles which will be launched this financial year, that's FY26. The company will introduce the long-awaited XUV700 Electric SUV this year, which is rumoured to be called the Mahindra XEV 7e. Adding to it, the homegrown UV maker is actively testing the BE Rall-E based sporty electric SUV and the electric derivative of the XUV 3XO.
Mahindra will launch the XEV 7e, BE 6 Rall-E based rugged electric SUV and the entry-level XUV 3XO EV this financial year. The XEV 7e could be the first model to arrive in our market, and it will be marketed as a practical 7-seater electric offering. Let's talk about these models in detail -
It is the production version of the Mahindra XUV.e8, which was unveiled in 2022-23. The electric SUV looks similar to the Mahindra XUV 700, except for some EV-specific changes. Its front design is inspired by the XEV 9e, featuring inverted L-shaped connected LED DRLs and a split headlamp setup with main headlights placed on the lower bumper. It will have aero-optimized wheels and wraparound LED tail-lights.
The cabin design is inspired by the Mahindra XEV 9e, featuring dual-tone black and white scheme with contrasting piano black finish on the centre console. It will come with a triple screen setup comprising of a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a passenger display.
The electric SUV is likely to come with multi-zone climate control, a premium 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function and ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, and others. It will also come with Auto Park feature which uses 12 ultrasonic sensors to find the ideal parking spot and then park itself.
Safety features will include LEVEL 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, a 360-degree surround view camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold and a TPMS.
The XEV 7e is likely to be offered with the 59kWh and 79kWh battery options with a rear-axle-mounted electric motor as standard. The SUV could offer a claimed MIDC range of over 500km on a single charge. The SUV is also likely to get dual-motor AWD setup with higher power and torque output.
We expect the new Mahindra XEV 7e to price between Rs 20.9 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. The exact launch timeline is yet to be announced, but media reports suggest that the SUV could go on sale by festive season - around Diwali.
The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is also testing the BE Rall-E based electric SUV, which is a sporty version of the BE 6 on sale in our market. The company had showcased the BE Rall-E concept at the Mahindra EV Fashion Festival in Hyderabad last year.
Spy images suggest that the production-spec BE Rall-E will look similar to the original concept. However, it could get some design changes to become road legal. It will come with shorter, and more aggressive front and rear bumpers along with prominent wheel arches and a roof carrier. The electric SUV Coupe will get chunkier tyres.
Interior details are yet to be revealed, but it is most likely to share dashboard layout with the Mahindra BE 6. The SUV will feature connected screen for infotainment and digital driver's display, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and others.
The sporty EV is likely to be fitted with a 79kWh battery pack with dual-motor AWD setup. It is expected to offer a range of over 500km on a single charge.
The homegrown UV maker is also testing the XUV 3XO based entry-level electric SUV, which will be a direct rival to the Tata Nexon EV. The electric SUV will be based on the same ICE-converted platform that underpins the XUV400 and the ICE-powered XUV 3XO.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV is likely to receive minor cosmetic changes such as EV-specific front grille, revised front and rear bumpers, new aero-optimized wheels and new badging. The electric SUV will share most of its features with the ICE model. The feature-list could include a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon sound system, front parking sensors, electronic parking brake with auto hold, LEVEL 2 ADAS and others.
The new XUV 3XO EV is likely to be offered with a small 35kWh battery pack; however, there are no details on its electric motor and range. We expect the new model to offer a range of around 400km on a single charge.
