The American EV manufacturer, Tesla will finally open mark its entry in the Indian market on 15th July. The company will open its first “experience centre” at Jim World Drive in Mumbai. At this centre, customers will be able to check prices, variants and other details of the Tesla EVs.
The experience centre will initially open for VIPs and business partners. Not just Mumbai, Tesla will open its second showroom in New Delhi in the last week of July, 2025.
If media reports are to be believed, Tesla will first launch the Model Y RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) to start its operations in India. In fact, the first batch of the mid-sized electric SUV has already been imported into India from the company’s China based manufacturing facility.
Bookings for the Tesla Model Y is likely to begin from July 15, while deliveries are expected to commence during festive season, around August-September 2025.
First introduced in 2020, the Model Y is the brand’s most affordable electric SUV. In the global markets, the electric SUV is available in 3 versions - 60kWh RWD, 75kWh Long-range AWD and 82kWh Performance AWD. The most affordable Tesla SUV is claimed to offer a range of up to 531km (Long Range AWD) on a single charge.
Key Features include a 15-inch HD touchscreen infotainment unit, panoramic sunroof, HEPA filter, triple-zone climate control with cabin overheat protection, electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation, ambient lighting, etc. For safety and security, the MODEL Y gets 7 airbag, advanced driver assistance system, 360-degree vision via 8 exterior cameras, and others.
