Kia will introduce a new generation of the Carens MPV, which will be available in India by late 2025. The facelift will introduce some of the most thrilling updates to its design and features, keeping the Carens at par with the competition in the highly sought-after midsize MPV segment. The new car will feature an updated exterior, a more premium cabin, and cutting-edge safety features to suit the tastes of modern buyers.
Here's a closer examination of what the facelifted Carens brings to the table.
The 2025 Kia Carens facelift will feature a new face, especially at the front. The front of the car will be blessed with a new pair of new redesigned LED headlamps that will be accompanied by a light bar, giving the car a newer look. The grille will also get a new look with special inserts that give the car a more aggressive look. The bumpers also will be re-manufactured, the vehicle's more aggressive front bumper to match.
At the rear of the vehicle, there will be new LED rear lamps and a horizontal light bar, which will make it look stylish and trendy. All these will make the Carens look more premium and stylish and set it apart from the rival midsize MPV segment. These will also come with new colors, making customers have additional options for the color of the car.
The interior of the 2025 Carens can have some radical overhauls. The seats and trims can be constructed from premium materials so that an enhanced comfort experience is offered within the car. Kia can introduce new trim and upholstery components to offer personalization choices to the users as well.
One of the highlight feature enhancements in the Carens is the inclusion of a 30-inch Trinity panoramic screen. This will integrate three screens: a 12.3-inch touchscreen for infotainment, a 12-inch digital driver's instrument cluster, and a small 5-inch screen for climate control. The ginormous screen will elevate the tech experience of the Carens to a more hi-tech and convenient one.
Apart from that, Kia is likely to offer second-row ventilated seats for improved rear-seat passengers' comfort. Front seats are ventilated, and the option will also offer the same cooling feeling to the rear-seat passengers, improving long-distance comfort.
Kia is also providing enormous priority to safety feature enhancement on 2025 Carens. The most significant feature will be providing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). They will have auto emergency brake, lane keep support, and 360-degree camera system, which will offer enhanced driving as well as parking security to the motorists. The 360-degree camera system will give bird's eye view and this will offer decent handling and not congesting the small spaces.
These upgrades will get the Carens safer and easier to drive, especially for the family owners who depend on their MPVs for everyday mobility and journeys on the road.
Under the bonnet, the 2025 Carens will likely continue to offer the same powertrains as the current model, so there is not much difference in the engines. The first is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 113.42 bhp of power and 144 Nm of torque. The second is also a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 114.41 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. For the power seekers, they can opt for the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine to produce 157.81 bhp, the highest in this series.
Transmission options are identical with the current model. Petrol models will get a six-speed manual or a six-speed iMT (intelligent manual transmission). The diesel model will get a six-speed automatic gearbox. The turbo petrol engine gets a seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission), which improves shifting smoothness and fuel efficiency.
2025 Kia Carens facelift will bring with it a host of changes that will upgrade the design and functionality of the MPV. With an all-new front and rear, a fresher interior, and enhanced tech, the Carens will provide a more premium experience for its occupants. The addition of ADAS and a 360-degree camera system will add safety and ease of driving to the vehicle.
Though the powertrain options will remain unchanged, the Carens will be comfort-oriented and ready to rival market players. Launch date remains to be revealed but is set to arrive in Indian shores around the fourth quarter of 2025.
This midlife makeover will allow the Carens to remain a segment leader in the midsize MPV segment with the perfect blend of style, comfort, technology, and safety. It is really clear that Kia does not want the Carens' glamour to fade away and keep expanding in the Indian market.
