We reported earlier that Honda Cars India will introduce the next-gen Amaze sub-4 meter sedan in the country this year. It was earlier planned to debut during the festive season; however, a new media report claims that the launch has been pushed to year end. The all-new Honda Amaze is reportedly to be revealed in December 2024, while deliveries are expected to begin in the early 2025.
The existing Amaze was first introduced in 2018. It will enter the third-generation and will be based on a new platform. The report claims that the next generation Honda Amaze will be based on the City's platform, which also underpin the Elevate mid-sized SUV.

The platform will be modified to accommodate a sub-4 meter sedan, which will have a significantly shorter wheelbase. For reference, the City and Elevate have a ground clearance of 2600mm and 2650mm, respectively. On the other side, the Honda Amaze rides on a 2470mm long wheelbase that's 130mm shorter than the City. Using a common platform will help Honda Cars India to achieve economies of scale.
The all-new Honda Amaze entry-level sedan will come with an all-new styling, which will be inspired from the Honda sedans on sale in global markets. Similar to the 2nd gen Amaze, the new Amaze sedan will follow the design highlights of the Accord sedan.
The cabin of the new-gen Amaze is expected to share layout and features with the Elevate sedan. It will have a simple yet functional dashboard that accommodates a larger, free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit and a semi-digital instrument console. It is likely to offer ADAS tech, which we have seen on the Elevate and City. The sedan could also receive a factory-fitted electric sunroof.
The new Honda Amaze is likely to retain the existing 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that powers the current model. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 90hp and 110Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
It was speculated that the new Honda Amaze could receive a hybrid powertrain; however, it seems highly unlikely. In fact, the Honda Elevate is also available with a single petrol engine and misses out on a hybrid tech.
