All-New Mahindra Scorpio Officially Teased; Full Interior Details Leaked Online

Finally, the time has arrived as the launch of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio is closing in. The homegrown SUV maker recently shared a teaser video of the upcoming SUV. Moreover, the interiors of the D-segment SUV have also been leaked online via some recent spy shots.

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced the arrival of the much anticipated 2022 New-Gen Scorpio with a teaser video calling it the “Big Daddy of SUVs”. As seen, the teaser video starts with a night shot of the Mahindra Research Valley, where Mahindra employees are witnessed talking about creating a bold and big D-segment SUV. To the far end of this video, one can see the New Mahindra SUV logo followed by a coming soon note suggesting that the new Scorpio will bear a new logo. It also throws light upon the silhouette of the SUV and key design elements like the headlights alongside LED DRLs.

The All-New Mahindra Scorpio also codenamed as the Z101 will get a major design revamp both on its exterior and interior. The overall profile of the SUV is expected to remain boxy. It is believed that the ladder frame SUV will get an all-new platform derived from the Mahindra Thar. Its powertrain will be similar to the New Mahindra XUV700 and will get the option of both petrol and diesel engines along with manual and automatic transmissions. The SUV will most likely get a proper 4X4 system with a differential lock.

The new SUV has been spied multiple times while being road-tested in different parts of the country wearing a full camouflage. However, the most recent spy shots of this upcoming SUV reveal quite a few important details regarding its interior and we have all the essential information for you right here.

To begin with, the centre console features a new touchscreen infotainment system placed between the vertical AC vents, something similar to the previous-gen Toyota Land Cruiser. The infotainment system gets physical rotary knobs for volume and a few other buttons. The interface is expected to be similar to the XUV 700’s infotainment system. The AC controls and aircraft-style buttons for hazard lights are lifted directly from the Mahindra Thar. The leather-wrapped steering wheel design is similar to XUV 700 with mounted controls on both sides. The instrument cluster of the new SUV looks identical to XUV 700’s base MX trim with an analogue speedometer and tachometer. The centre of the instrument cluster provides a digital display that features a type pressure monitoring system. As for the upholstery, it will be dual-tone black and brown. The front row seats are expected to offer a manual adjusting lever. While the second row of seats seem to have a good amount of space. This particular section of the SUV will also feature a central AC vent alongside a 12 volt charging socket and a USB port. The floor area has a slight hump owing to the rear-wheel-drive shaft crossing underneath. It seems that the four-wheeler will have very less boot space with all the 3 rows up. Like the current model, expect its tailgate to open sideways. A sunroof and speakers are placed within the roofline to help spruce up the cabin further.

For more details on this most awaited Mahindra model, one will have to wait till the month of June. That is when the company plans to introduce the SUV into the Indian car market to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Scorpio nameplate in the country.
