Audi’s flagship sedan re-introduced in the country; Gets refreshed styling; More tech on the inside
Two years after it received an update, the Audi A8L has been reintroduced in the Indian market. The flagship sedan from the German automaker gets major cosmetic updates giving it a bolder look. Here is everything that has changed on the vehicle:
In its newest avatar the A8L has gone sharper and bolder. The most noticeable element of the front end is the large grille with chrome stud. The 3D grille is flanked by sleek looking Digital Matrix LED headlamps. Other highlights of the front end include angular air dams with chrome surrounds. Towards the side, the design remains largely unchanged except for a new alloy wheel. At the rear the car gets an OLED tail lamp setup that runs the width of the car. Both the front and rear lights get their individual signature lighting pattern which add to the experience of owning an Audi.
While the exterior is sporty, the interior of the A8L reeks of luxury and comfort. eye catching elements on the inside include 10.1-inch screen for infotainment and a curved 8.6-inch screen for A/C controls. Audio duties is taken care by Bang and Olufsen 3D surround system.
Excluding these the car will feature standard equipment like a 4-zone climate control, Park Assist Plus with 3D surround view camera, soft close doors, head-up display, wireless charger, digital driver’s cockpit and more. Like all limousine models, rear passengers can control the front passenger seat to liberate extra legroom and enjoy a lounge like experience.
In addition to these, the four-wheeler will be available with multiple customisation packages like the Rear Executive Package that offer twin 10.1-inch screens at the rear along with functions like heated foot massage which can all be controlled through the tablet like screen on the rear arm rest.
For the ones who want to make their Audi truly special, the company is offering 55 exterior colour options, 8 upholstery colour option and 7 wood inlay options. Other optional extras include Predictive Active suspension and four-wheel steering.
Powertrain option includes a 3.0-litre V6 turbo petrol engine with 48V mild-hybrid tech. This system will be mated to Audi’s 8-speed automatic transmission and pumps out 340 bhp. Like all flagship models, this four-wheeler will also come equipped with air suspension and the Quattro four-wheel drive system as standard.
The Audi A8L luxury sedan will be available in two editions. The first is the Celebration edition available at Rs 1.29 crore (ex-showroom) while the other is the Technology edition priced at Rs 1.57 crore (ex-showroom).
Volkswagen stopped the production of the Polo Hatchback in India in 2022 and the hatchback is now in talks to have a comeback in a Crossover SUV form.
