It was speculated that Mahindra will launch the XUV700 facelift in the country this year. However, the company has no such plans to introduce the updated XUV700 SUV in 2025. For people not in the know, the Mahindra XUV700 SUV was first introduced in 2021 and has been receiving an overwhelming response from buyers.
The arrival of XEV 9e and BE 6 electric coupe SUVs fueled the speculation around the XUV700 facelift launch. Moreover, Mahindra has trademarked the XUV 7XO nameplate. It is reported that the XUV700 in the facelift avatar could be called the XUV 7XO. This year, Mahindra introduced the Ebony Edition of the XUV700 in the market, which is also its last update. We believe that the facelift would come to our market sometime in 2026.
The existing Mahindra XUV700 is one of the most feature-loaded SUVs in its category. The SUV gets smart flush door handles, LEVEL 2 ADAS, dual-zone climate control, an electrically adjustable driver's seat with a memory function and many more.
The updated Mahindra XUV700 is likely to receive new features from the XEV 9e and the upcoming XEV 7e. It is expected to get a triple screen setup including a larger touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver's display and a passenger display. The SUV will have front and rear parking sensors, and an immersive Sony Sound system. The SUV could also receive some changes on the outside.
The 3-row SUV is available with two engine options - a 2.0L turbocharged mStallion petrol and a 2.2L mHawk turbocharged diesel. While the former is good for 200PS and 380Nm of torque, the diesel engine offers two states of tune - 152bhp/360Nm and 182bhp/450Nm, respectively. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
