BYD India has recently launched its first three-row electric MPV, eMAX 7, at an introductory price of Rs 26.90 lakh. The new model is the facelifted version of the earlier BYD e6 and competes with popular options such as the Toyota Innova Hycross, which offers hybrid and traditional engines. Although the BYD eMAX 7 does come with some upgrades, it still leaves out some of the features the Innova Hycross offers and thus may sway buyers in the segment.
The BYD eMAX 7 comes with two options for the battery, and they are a 55.4 kWh battery, which provides a range of 420 km and a 71.8 kWh battery, which increases the range up to 530 km. It is powerful enough with up to 204 bhp and 310 Nm of torque for an electric MPV. But, the other way around, on Innova Hycross's end, it boasts 2-litre petrol hybrid and the ranges begin at up to 183.45 bhp and deliver impressive efficiency that reads at 23.24 kmpl.
