BYD India is going to launch Sealion 7 by March 2025. The company is going to unveil the electric SUV in India first at the Auto Expo 2025 that begins from January 17. BYD is also going to display its other electric cars including Seal sedan, Atto 3 SUV and eMax 7 MPV. Overseas, Sealion 7 was already present and it would enter the Indian market with alterations suitable for country.
The design of BYD Sealion 7 is a carryover from the BYD Seal sedan already up for sale in India. The headlamp and grille are the same as the Seal EV. The Sealion 7 will feature a defined tapered roofline and therefore can be called as having the shape of a coupe-SUV. The BYD electric SUV will have the highest wheel size available at up to 20-inches with black cladding giving it sporty look. This coupe SUV will have flush-type door handles, LED tail lights, at the rear, with connected pixels for design.
The Sealion 7 will come with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch digital driver's display. Seats are of white leatherette and a panoramic glass roof is added. There are features like, heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic AC, and a 12-speaker sound system.
The Sealion 7 will be available with two different battery pack sizes as they are already offered in international market. The first one will be 82.5 kWh with the power of 308.71 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The second will be 91.3 kWh with the power of 522.75 bhp and 690 Nm of torque. The coupe SUV will have a top range of about 502 km, depending on the size of the battery pack. Besides, there are RWD and AWD variants of the SUV.
The Sealion 7 will come with 9 airbags, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It will also have advanced driver-assistance features like adaptive cruise control and rear collision warning.
The BYD Sealion 7 will likely fall in the bracket of Rs. 45 lakh (ex-showroom) in India and compete with other electric SUVs such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Volvo EX40.
By 2025, the BYD India will expand the showrooms in country with a target of 27 to 40 cities.
BYD Sealion 7 will be a brand-new electric SUV and is expected to launch in India. All the information about it will be shared on the launch day at Bharat Mobility Show 2025.
