Honda Cars India has officially commenced bookings for the Elevate SUV in the country. Customers can book the new compact SUV from their nearby dealership or Honda’s official website at a token amount of Rs 21,000. The Elevate is slated to go on sale by September 2023.
India is going to be the main production facility for the Elevate with exports planned to other developing markets. Now, ahead of its launch, reports have revealed the upcoming compact SUV’s variants. We take a closer look.
Honda will offer 4 variants, SV, V, VX and ZX of the Elevate. Here are a few notable feature highlights of each trim -
The entry-level SV trims will come with features like an LED projector headlights and LED taillights, auto AC, fabric upholstery, 16-inch steel wheels, dual-front airbags, and push-button start/stop. It will get a generic audio system with physical controls instead of the touchscreen infotainment system.
Next is the V variant, which gets all the features of the SV and adds an 8-inch infotainment system with 4 speakers, connected car tech, steering-mounted controls, and wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. You can also opt for a CVT automatic transmission in this trim level.
Second from the top, the V variant will add features like roof-rails, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, ratio folding ORVMs, LED fog lights, 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, 6-speaker audio setup, wireless charger, and a lane watch camera.
The ZX is the Elevate’s flagship trim, and it comes with all the bells and whistles. It gets a 10.25-inch infotainment system, brown leatherette upholstery, eight speaker audio setup, auto dimming day/night rear-view mirror, six airbags, and Honda Sensing ADAS tech.
This variant will also be the only one in which Honda will offer dual-tone colours, including the Phoenix Orange shade.
Honda will offer only a single powertrain option on the Elevate. The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated i-VTEC petrol engine that makes 121 bhp with 145 Nm of max torque. The unit will come paired to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. Honda will not offer a strong-hybrid option. However it is expected to get a pure-electric variant sometime in the future.

According to the latest reports, the Elevate will be around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are slated to start from September, while test drives are set to begin from early August.
Even though the Elevate is quite feature-packed, rivals in this price bracket get even more features. Upon launch, it will compete with the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Škoda Kushaq, and the VW Taigun.
