We have known for a while now that Hyundai is currently working on an electric version of the Creta. Test mules of the SUV have already been spotted before as well. Now, the latest spy shots give us a clear insight into the EV’s cabin.
Looking at the leaked images, the Creta EV’s interior looks fairly similar to the ICE model. There are a few differences though like the all-new digital instrument cluster that is completely unique from any other Hyundai vehicle in India. Further, the gear level too has been repositioned from the centre console to the right-hand side of the steering column, leading to a blanked-out space between the front seats. The rest of the cabin witnesses no changes. Do note that this is only a prototype, and the production model could get an entirely different Interior.
As of now the test mule which has been spotted in the past is believed to have been based on the current generation Creta that is on sale in our country. However, according to the latest media reports, the production version is expected to be based on the Creta Facelift that is slated to debut early next year. Expect the brand to launch the New Hyundai Creta EV by early or mid-2025.
Upon launch, the EV SUV will compete against the likes of the MG ZS EV and the Tata Nexon .EV. Besides these two models, the electric vehicle will also rival the upcoming Maruti eVX in its segment. The eVX is slated for a 2025 launch and unlike the Creta EV, it will be based on an all-EV platform.
