Hyundai has finally launched the Creta Electric, or Creta EV, at Bharat Mobility Show 2025. The new EV is Hyundai's cheapest all-electric SUV in India with prices starting at Rs. 17.99 and goes up to Rs. 23.50 lakh, ex-showroom. There are four main variants of Creta EV: Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence.
Let's take a closer look at the details of this exciting new model.
The Creta EV is largely the same in shape as the standard Creta but with a few changes that gives it unique identity as an electric car. The new closed-off grille features a pixelated pattern, and there is a charging flap with the Hyundai logo. Under the grille is a new bumper with active air flaps, which improve airflow for cooling of the battery as well as general aerodynamics. It retains the signature L-shaped connected LED DRLs and headlight design from the standard Creta.
From the side, the silhouette of the Creta EV is almost indistinguishable from the regular model with silver skirting below the doors and black roof and pillars. The 17-inch alloy wheels are designed to be aerodynamically friendly. At the rear, the SUV retains its usual design elements including the connected LED tail lights and rear bumper that features a silver skid plate.
The Hyundai Creta EV comes with a pair of 10.25-inch digital screens: one for driver information and another for infotainment. This electric version of Creta accommodates five passengers and features ventilated and power-adjustable front seats. Other features includes V2L technology, i-Pedal, Shift-by-wire gear, Digital Key, and a Bose sound system.
The Creta EV has two battery variants. The more significant 51.4 kWh battery has an estimated range of 473 kilometers on a single charge, while the 42 kWh battery is quoted to deliver up to 390 kilometers.
The Creta EV can be accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and for fast DC charging, it takes around 58 minutes to charge its battery from 10% up to 80%. In comparison, for charging at home, the Smart Connected Wall Box on the Creta EV can top up the battery in 4 hours.
