The Korean automaker, Hyundai is all set to introduce the long-awaited Creta EV that has been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. The company has confirmed that the new electric SUV will be launched in the country in January 2025. Likely to enter production-line in December 2024, the new Hyundai Creta EV is most likely to be unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show.
Not just Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki will also introduce its new e Vitara SUV at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. However, prices of the Maruti Vitara EV is expected to be released by March or in the second quarter of 2025. It will first launch in global markets including Europe and Japan. The prices of Hyundai Creta EV is expected to be revealed at the auto event.
The Hyundai Creta EV will rival the likes of the Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV. The new electric SUV will look largely identical to the Creta facelift on sale in our market. It will have EV-specific elements such as charging port in the front, new aerodynamic alloy wheels, Ioniq-5 like steering wheel and others.
In terms of design changes, the new Hyundai Creta EV will have new closed-off front grille, newly styled LED headlamp setup with LED daytime running lamps, revised LED tail-lights, new bumpers and new alloy wheels. The cabin will get the same layout as the ICE model, except for the few changes and additions. It will have dual 10.25-inch screens, a wireless mobile charger, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS suite with features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist and others.
The new Creta EV is expected to be offered with two battery packs with lower variant to get around 45kWh unit. The higher models could get a battery pack of around 60kWh capacity and a range of up to 500km on a single full charge. The lower-spec model should offer a range of around 400km on a single charge. If reports are to be believed, the EV could get a front-axle-mounted electric motor which is likely to be the same as the Kona EV on sale in global market. Power and torque output stands at 136hp and 255Nm, respectively.
