Following weeks of teasers, Hyundai Motor India has finally revealed the first official pictures of the upcoming Exter SUV. The brand has also started accepting bookings of the new micro-SUV at a token amount of Rs 11,000. It is expected to be launched by August 2023.
While spy shots had already leaked the design, the official pictures confirm what the Exter will look like. The micro-SUV has a flat and upright front fascia featuring H-shaped LED DRLs, projector headlights, Hyundai’s signature wide parametric grille, and a faux aluminium skid plate.
Moving to the sides, it provides flared wheel arches with chunky body cladding, diamond-cut alloy wheels, blacked-out roof, and roof rails. The automaker has not revealed the rear end of the Exter yet but it will get LED tail lights connected by a black strip similar to the New Hyundai avenue. The Korean manufacturer will also offer two new distinctive colours called Khaki Ranger and Cosmic Blue.
Upcoming Hyundai Exter will be offered in 5 variants namely EX, S, SX, SX(O) & SX(O) Connect. The top end trim will come packed with features like a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, auto climate control, a sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and more.
The brand has confirmed that the Exter will be powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The motor makes 82 bhp with 114 Nm of peak torque and can be paired with a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. Furthermore, Hyundai has also confirmed that the micro-SUV will be available with a CNG powertrain option right from its launch.
As mentioned earlier, the company is now accepting pre-bookings for the Exter. You can visit any Hyundai dealership or its official website and pay Rs 11,000 as a token amount.
We expect the Exter to be priced between Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Citroen C3 and the Tata Punch.
