Just days after the first official sketches of the Hyundai Exter, were unveiled, the brand has revealed more details of the micro-SUV. The new post now gives the variant-wise powertrain choices for the model.
The 2023 Hyundai Exter will be available in 5 trim levels - EX, S, SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect. All variants will be available with the 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated engine that makes 82 bhp with 114 Nm of peak torque. The base EX variant will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox only, while all the other variants will offer both manual and AMT transmission choices.
In addition to the petrol powertrain, Hyundai will also offer the Exter with a CNG powertrai option in two trims - S and SX. This unit will be a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated motor making 68 bhp with 95 Nm of max torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be the only option in these variants.
The automaker will offer the Exter in 6 single-tone exterior colours - Fiery Red, Starry Night, Titan Grey, Cosmic Blue, Atlas White and Ranger Khaki. The latter colour will be exclusive to the new micro-SUV. It will also get three dual-tone colour options, namely Cosmic Blue, Ranger Khaki, and Atlas White. However, the dual-tone colours are available only on the petrol-powered versions.
The all-new Exter is expected to be launched in India by August 2023. As mentioned earlier, the brand has already commenced bookings with a token amount of Rs 11,000. The upcoming micro-SUV will be priced around Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
Upon launch, the Hyundai Exter will compete against the likes of the Citroen C3 and Tata Punch.
