Hyundai has big plans to go electric in the future. In India, the South Korean automaker will introduce at least five new electric vehicles between 2025 and 2027. One of the first mass-market electric offerings from Hyundai will be the Creta EV, which is slated to hit the roads in January 2025, with its public debut at the second edition of the Bharat Mobility Show. The SUV’s electric iteration will have slightly different styling from its ICE version, featuring a closed-off grille, tweaked bumpers, and new alloys.
Recently, a few images of the Creta EV interior have emerged on the web, revealing some intriguing details. The SUV will have seat upholstery with ‘CRETA Electric’ embossing, a central console with a button panel, a dual-screen setup, and a new circular 3-spoke steering wheel replacing the flat-bottom unit. Most features will be carried forward from its ICE counterpart.
Official powertrain details of the Hyundai Creta EV are yet to be revealed. However, the electric SUV is likely to come with a battery pack with a capacity of 45kWh and an electric motor, delivering a maximum power of 138bhp and 255Nm of torque. Its main rival – the Tata Curvv EV – offers 45kWh and 55kWh battery options, with a claimed range of 502km and 585km, respectively.
The new-generation Hyundai Venue launch is also planned for early 2025. Major changes are expected to be made inside and out, while the engine setup is likely to be carried forward. One of the biggest upgrades might be the addition of Level 2 ADAS tech. The dual-screen setup could be borrowed from the Creta, and a panoramic sunroof might also be available on the higher trims.
As mentioned above, the 2025 Hyundai Venue will come with the same powertrain options – a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5L diesel engine. The naturally aspirated petrol motor generates a peak power of 83PS and 114Nm of torque, the turbo petrol unit produces 120PS and 172Nm, and the diesel engine offers 116PS and 250Nm of torque. All three transmission options will also be carried forward, including a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, and a 7-speed DCT automatic.
