India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
Ahead of the India launch, the new-gen Renault Duster has been officially launched in Turkey. The SUV comes with a bold design, a wide range of premium features, and multiple powertrain options. Expect the new Duster to come in India next year.
The new Duster is available in two trims - Evolution and Techno. From the design perspective, the new Duster has an attractive visual appeal. Its front fascia features a radiator front grille with 'RENAULT' lettering in bold.
The Evolution trim offers LED lights, rear drum brakes and 17-inch wheels. Inside, it offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, cruise control, and more. Safety-wise, it is offered with 6-7 airbags, rearview camera, an automatic braking system, roadside recognition, lane departure warning, and more.
Its Techno trim has all 4 disc brakes, an automatic headlight switching system, fog lights, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and 18-inch wheels. Inside, the customers get heated steering wheel & seats, hooks & gadgets, and interior LED lights. Safety features include a 360-degree camera, and blind spot monitoring system. A wide variety of optional features are also available for the Techno trim level.
The new Duster is powered by multiple engine options. The first one is a 3-cylinder 1.0 TCe LPG engine. This dual-fuel option supports both propane and gasoline. Mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox, it can produce a maximum power of 98 bhp. The power is sent to the front wheels.
The second engine option is a full-fledged FWD hybrid E-Tech unit. It has an electric motor and a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol mill that can produce a combined power output of 143 bhp. The third engine is a 1.2 TCe turbo petrol and a 48-volt starter-generator. This mild hybrid engine can generate 127 bhp. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and is available with an all-wheel-drive system.
However, the India-spec Duster will not receive hybrid powertrains. It is likely to be offered with a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.3-litre, turbocharged petrol and a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Similar to the previous generation model, the next-gen Renault Duster for India will receive an AWD setup. It will rival the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara AWD in India.
In terms of pricing, the base trim with the 1.0 TCe LPG engine is priced at 1,249,000 Turkish liras (INR 32 lakh approx.). While its E-Tech hybrid Duster starts at 1,530,000 liras (Rs 39 lakh). Meanwhile, the mild hybrid AWD starts at 1,580,000 liras (Rs 40 lakh).
The Indian market is also going to witness the launch of a new-gen Duster in 2025. It is important to note that the India-spec version could be slightly different from the global-spec model.
