Automakers have released sales numbers for the month of March 2025. Most of the brands have posted positive sales growth, ending FY24-25 on a positive note. Mahindra has posted an impressive 18% YoY sales growth, while Skoda and MG Motor India reported highest ever sales for March month. Here is a brand-wise sales report for the March month 2025.
Maruti Suzuki has registered a total sales of 192,984 units in the month of March 2025, reporting a YoY sales growth of 3.1 percent. The company had sold 187,196 units in the same month last year. For the financial year 2024-25, Maruti Suzuki recorded its highest every total sales of 2,234,266 units as against 2,135,323 units in the FY 2023-24.
Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 61,097 utility vehicles in March 2025 as against 58,436 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY increase of 4.6 percent. The mini segment sales drop by 11.5% to 125,770 units, while the compact segment sales down by 6.9% to 7,70,737 in the last financial year. For the FY2024-25, Maruti UV sales increased by 12.1% to 720,186 units from 642,296 units in the previous year.
Maruti Suzuki has also exported 332,585 units in FY 2024-25 as against 2,83,067 units in the previous fiscal year, reporting an annual growth of 17.5 percent. Adding to it, sales to other OEMs were 106,422 units in FY 2024-25 from 58,612 units in FY 2023-24.
Hyundai has sold a total of 51,820 vehicles in domestic market in March 2025 as against 53,001 vehicles in the same month last year, reporting a YoY decline of 2.23 percent. The company has also exported 15,500 vehicles in March 2025 as against 12,600 units in the same month last year.
The homegrown UV maker has sold a total of 51,616 vehicles in the month of March 2025 as against 50,110 vehicles in the same month last year. Tata Motors reported a year-on-year sales growth of 3.01 percent. The company's EV sales declined by 20.56 percent to 5,353 units in March 2025 as against 6,738 units in the same month last year.
Mahindra & Mahindra has reported a 23 percent YoY sales increase including exports for March 2025. The company reported a total auto sales of 83,894 units last month. The homegrown UV maker has registered an 18 percent rise in utility vehicle sales in March 2025, recording a total SUVs sale of 551,487 units in the FY ending March 31,2025.
Mahindra sold a total of 48,048 SUVs in the month of March 2025, registering a year-on-year sales growth of 18 percent. Mahindra has also started delivering its new electric origin SUVs including the BE 6 and the XEV 9e, both receiving positive response from buyers.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has sold a total of 30,043 vehicles in the month of March 2025 as against 27,180 units in the same month last year, reporting a YoY sales growth of 11 per cent. The company sold 28,373 vehicles in domestic market and 1,670 units were exported in March.
Toyota has also recorded its highest-ever sales in a financial year. The company sold 3,37,148 units in financial year 2024-25 as against 2,63,512 units in the previous fiscal, recording an impressive double-digit growth of 28 percent.
The Korean automaker, Kia has reported a total sales of 25,525 units in the month of March 2025 as against 21,400 units in the same month last year. The company has reported a YoY sales growth of 19.28%. Kia India's month-on-month sales grew by 1.99%, as the company had dispatched 25,026 vehicles in February 2025.
Riding on the back of new Kylaq compact SUV, Skoda Auto India has registered its highest-ever monthly sales figure of 7,422 units in March 2025. The Skoda Kylaq has been receiving positive response from buyers. In fact, the car received over 15,000 bookings. This has forced Skoda to ramp up production to fulfill all orders by May 2025.
Commenting on the milestone, Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, said, “The 7,422 cars we sold in March 2025 reflect our commitment to bringing European technology to Indian roads. The Kylaq’s success highlights the demand for comfort, space, and safety in the sub-4m SUV segment. To celebrate this success, we are extending the introductory pricing until the end of April.”
JSW MG Motor India has reported a year-on-year sales growth of 9 percent in the month of March 2025. The company sold 5,500 units compared to 5,050 units in the March 2024. It is the highest March month sales reported by MG Motor India, thanks to its EVs. Brand's electric vehicles contributes to over 85 percent of total sales.
MG Motor India is selling Comet, ZS EV and Windsor models, which contributed to the increase in its sales. Adding to it, MG Windsor EV has achieved its best sales month since its launch. The company has recently launched the 2025 edition of the MG Astor, which is marketed as "The Blockbuster SUV". The new Shine variant becomes the cheapest model in its segment to offer a panoramic sunroof.
