India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
Ever since Kia Cars unveiled the facelifted Seltos globally last year, it has become one of the most anticipated new car launches in the Indian market. Now, as per the latest reports, the South Korean automaker is slated to reveal the updated SUV in India on July 4. Here’s what’s new about the popular compact SUV.
In terms of exterior, the new KIA Seltos will feature a thorough exterior refresh. At the front, it gets a redesigned front grille flanked by slim headlights that get a new LED signature. Moving to the side, the compact SUV’s profile remains largely unchanged except for the all-new alloy wheels. At the rear, the new Seltos gets vertically stacked LED tail lights connected by a full-width LED light bar.
The Seltos will get an updated interior as well. New features could include dual 10.25-inch display setup for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Kia is also expected to replace the current model’s single-pane sunroof with a larger panoramic unit. Key feature highlights include connected car tech, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, powered boot, audio setup from Bose, and more.
Kia Cars will offer the new Seltos with both petrol and diesel powertrain options. The 1.5-litre turbo diesel and 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit from the outgoing model will be carried over. Additionally, the brand will also introduce a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor that makes 160 bhp with 252 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, a 6-speed torque converter automatic and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
Expect Kia Seltos facelift to be priced at a slight premium over the current model. The new range could start from Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand has already started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Upon launch, the Seltos facelift will rival the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate and the VW Taigun.
