Kia Syros is the most recent sub-4 meter SUV launched by the Korean automaker. It is offered in 13 different variants from the base model priced at Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) to top-spec at Rs 17.8 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Kia sales chart for January, this model ranked 3rd position. Many are opting for the model and it is better to go for the base model if you have a tight budget but a liking towards sleek design and advanced features.
The exterior of the sub-4m SUV gives a boxy and rugged look with a much bigger front fascia and an aggressive-looking Tiger-nose grille. The silhouette is van-like with a plain surface, blacked-out C-pillars, squared-off wheel arches, and muscular roof rails.
The doors have streamlined handles, also the car has 15-inch steel wheels with covers, a Shark fin antenna on the back top, and Auto halogen headlights.
The interior is offered with a dual-tone theme of black and grey with orange accents, black and grey semi-leatherette seat upholstery, and an adjustable front headrest. The SUV is pretty comfortable as well with a front center armrest, sunshades for back windows, and a sunglass holder.
As for the features, the base variant Syros does not lack and offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen, 4 speakers, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Semi-digital instrument console with a 4.2-inch multi-information display (MID), a Tilt-adjustable steering wheel, and Steering-mounted audio controls.
The Syros HTK Turbo variant is great for safety and much friendlier in its segment. There are 6 airbags in the car and features include a Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), Brake assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill start assist, Front and rear parking sensors, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.
The Syros HTK Turbo is powered by a Smartstream G1.0 T-GDi petrol engine which can deliver 118 bhp and a peak torque of 172 Nm. It is paired with a manual gearbox option.
