Mahindra BE 6 is one of Mahindra's newly launched electric SUVs placed in the fiercely competing electric vehicle (EV) segment. Mahindra's SUV competes against other favourites like Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and also with the arriving Maruti e Vitara. There are five variants of the BE 6 with varying lists of features and performances. Of these variants, the Pack Two and Pack Three are among the most sought-after options by customers.
In this article, we will compare and contrast these two variants so that you can better understand their differences and determine which one of them is best suited to your needs.
Mahindra BE 6 has various variants with different features and price tags. Pack Two at Rs. 21.90 lakh is the budget-friendly option, whereas the feature-heavy Pack Three option is available for Rs. 26.90 lakh. Pack Three Select costs Rs. 24.50 lakh, which is a middle ground. The pricing sets the BE 6 against electric SUVs such as the Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta Electric.
The Pack Two model is equipped with a 59 kWh battery pack and one electric motor that produces 227.84 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. This model has a claimed range of 557 km on full charge, based on the MIDC part 1 and part 2 cycles. The drivetrain is Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), offering a proper balance of handling and performance.
The Pack Three, however, comes with a choice of the 59 kWh battery pack (Pack Three Select) as well as an upgraded 79 kWh battery pack (Pack Three). The smaller battery has a range of 557km and the bigger one has a range of 683km on single charge. Both models share the same 380 Nm of torque and feature RWD. The bigger battery on the Pack Three model offers more range and power for an overall improved performance.
The exterior of the Mahindra BE 6 Pack Two is sleek and contemporary with dual-pod auto LED headlamps, LED rear lights, and cornering front fog lamps. The car also has a distinctive light sequence that turns on when starting the car, making it look premium.
The Pack Three model adds some further design improvements. It features C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights and a sequential lighting effect on the rear lights. The body also has electrically deployable flush door handles, which ensure a sleek and classy appearance. These features enhance the Pack Three model to give it a premium look over the Pack Two.
Within the Pack Two trim, the interior is accented with soft-touch fabric trim and a 12.3-inch digital driver's display. It also has a manually adjustable driver's seat and a fixed panoramic glass roof, further adding to the vehicle's comfort and elegance. Dual-zone AC system with Pet Mode and Camp Mode adds to comfort. The infotainment system comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and is complemented by a 16-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system.
For comparison, the Pack Three model has more luxury features. The interior is treated to leatherette trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and touch-sensitive switches on the steering wheel and center console. For extra convenience, it also has dual wireless phone charging, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, and ventilated front seats. The Pack Three also comes with a powered tailgate and keyless entry. The interior of the car further differentiates with multi-colour ambient lighting and illuminated details on the panoramic roof, further augmenting the premium feel of the cabin. A selfie camera also provides a technologically advanced twist to the cabin.
The Mahindra BE 6 Pack Two has all it takes for safety, with the inclusion of 6 airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, and an electronic parking brake. It also comes with cutting-edge driver assistance systems like front parking sensors and driver drowsiness detection. The Pack Two has amenities such as wireless charging, a digital key, and a tyre pressure monitoring system, presenting a robust safety and convenience feature.
The Pack Three variant, nonetheless, raises the bar on safety. It offers 7 airbags and complements these with advanced features such as a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitor, auto park assist, and auto-tilt ORVMs to enable safer parking. The Pack Three variant also offers an augmented reality (AR) heads-up display (HUD) for live navigation and car information. The driver assistance systems are also augmented with features like auto lane change and cross-traffic alert, enhancing safety and convenience for the driver.
