Mahindra has officially started accepting bookings for the Thar Roxx, both online and at dealerships. To our surprise, the brand has collected 1.76 lakh bookings in just 60 minutes. Deliveries for the 5-door Thar will start from next week. Let’s get more insights.
Mahindra Thar Roxx was launched on 15th August and the dealerships started accepting the bookings (unofficial) in the same month at Rs 21,000. The official bookings for the 5-door Thar started from today itself and the brand has received a massive amount of bookings, securing up to 1.76 lakh within just 1 hour. This is the highest ever first-day booking number for any carmakers.
However, this will eventually result in delayed delivery. The waiting period for the new Thar Roxx is likely to be extended from 3 months to 6 months or more for customers. The same has earlier happened with Scorpio N, XUV700 and Thar 3-door, which had over 1 year waiting period.
The homegrown automaker will start delivering the Thar Roxx on October 12. This will include the models only with Ivory-Black interior options. For the Mocha Brown interior variants, the deliveries will begin by the end of January 2025.
Mahindra aims to produce 6500 units for the Thar Roxx on a monthly basis. The brand might also increase the production number so the waiting period can reduced.
The Thar Roxx is available in six variants - MZ1, MX3, AX3L, MX5, AX5L, and AX7L. The price for the entry-level model stands at Rs 12.99 lakh while the top model is priced at Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
