A month ago, Mahindra launched its new Thar Roxx 5-door SUV at Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it is yet to go on sale officially. Bookings for the Thar Roxx will commence on October 3 while the deliveries will begin on October 12. Ahead of that, the homegrown automaker has started the test drives of the Thar Roxx. Interested customers can visit their nearby authorized Mahindra dealerships to book their slot for test drives.

With the launch of the 5-door Thar, Mahindra has offered a range of premium features inside. It comes with a big 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and a 10.25-inch digital instrument console. Other feature highlights include a panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon-tuned sound system, a wireless phone charger, and ventilated front seats, among others.
Safety-wise, Mahindra Thar Roxx gets six airbags as standard, 3-point seatbelts, and a 360-degree camera. An Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is also on offer.
New Thar Roxx has seven exterior colour options. These include Deep Forest, Tango Red, Everest White, Battleship Grey, Nebula Blue, Stealth Black, and Burnt Sienna.
Mahindra Thar Roox is offered in six variants namely MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L. Under the hood, it houses a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. Both engines deliver two states of tune. The petrol unit can produce 160bhp/330Nm and 175bhp/380Nm while the diesel mill can generate 150bhp/330Nm and 173 bhp/370Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
It is available in both Rear-Wheel-Drive and Four-Wheel-Drive variants. Although the price of the RWD variants has been revealed, the 4x4 variants' prices are yet to be announced.
