Mahindra XEV 7e – Tech & Features Inspired by the XEV 9e?

The Mahindra XUV700 SUV is all set to go electric this year. The SUV’s electric iteration will be called – Mahindra XEV 7e. Ahead of its official debut, which is planned for late 2025, leaked images of its production-ready version have surfaced online. Looking at the leaked pictures, it’s clearly evident that the XUV 7e will share several design elements with the XEV 9e born-electric SUV. Let’s take a look what all it can borrow from the Mahindra XEV 9e.

The silhouette and design language of the Mahindra XEV 7e will be similar to its ICE counterpart. However, its front fascia will share a strong resemblance with the XEV 9e including a split headlamp setup, and L-shaped connected LED DRLs. This electric SUV will also come with aerodynamically designed alloy wheels. Its LED taillamps and window lines will be carried forward from the ICE-powered XUV700.

The leaked images reveal that the Mahindra XEV 7e will have black and white cabin theme with white seat upholstery. It will have a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated ‘infinity’ logo. The triple-screen setup will be borrowed from the XEV 9e. It includes one screen for the driver’s display, one for the infotainment system and one for the front passenger.

Most of its features will be carried forward from the ICE-powered XUV700. The electric XUV 700 is likely to offer VisionX HUD (head-up display), a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, an electronic parking brake, powered front seats with a memory function, 7 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, tyre pressure monitoring system and more.

Furthermore, the Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to share its electric powertrain with the XEV 9e. The born electric SUV comes with two battery packs – 59kWh and 79kWh – delivering a claimed range of 542km and 656km, respectively. The AWD (all-wheel drive) system will be optional. The smaller battery pack delivers a maximum power of 231PS with 380Nm, while the bigger battery offers power worth 286PS and 380Nm of torque.
