Mahindra’s upcoming XUV 3XO EV was spotted testing for the first time on Indian roads. Reports suggest the SUV is inching closer to launch and will sit under the XUV400 in the homegrown brand’s EV portfolio.
The electric XUV 3XO maintains a similar front fascia to its ICE counterpart, including C-shaped LED DRLs positioned next to projector headlights. Though a lot could not be inferred in terms of differentiation, Mahindra could restyle the bumpers and nose alongside new alloy wheels featuring plastic inserts for aerodynamic efficiency, Autocar reported. Interior details could not be ascertained.
While the XUV400 is a compact SUV at 4.2 metres in length, the XUV 3XO EV will be under 4 metres, likely 3.9 metres. This would also translate to a compromise in cabin and boot space.
The report further suggests it will be powered by a 35 kWh cell pack, smaller than XUV400’s 40 kWh unit, with power and torque figures undisclosed. Considering the EV’s rivals, a single-charge range of up to 350 kilometres is estimated. As for pricing, the smaller e-SUV undercut XUV400 by around Rs. 2 lakh. The latter’s ex-showroom price, for reference, starts at Rs. 15.49 lakh.
