Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to introduce the new XUV300 facelift in India early next year. The subcompact SUV has already been spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times. Now, the latest spy shots have revealed what the interior of the facelifted Mahindra XUV300 will look like. We take a closer look.
The spy shots were captured at Leh, where the 2023 Mahindra XUV300 facelift is undergoing high-altitude testing. While the test mule is clad in heavy camouflage, it did reveal the interior of the upcoming model. As expected, the new XUV300 will feature a larger infotainment system, around 10 inches in size. However, lower trim levels will continue with the current 7-inch unit. In the leaked pictures, the new and larger infotainment unit looks like it gets dedicated buttons for volume control and other multimedia functions. The new screen will also be seen on the upcoming Thar 5-door. Additionally, the new XUV300 could also get a fully digital instrument cluster and a HUD.
The exterior of the new XUV300 will be revamped as well, with the design inspired by Mahindra’s BE range of EVs. This is the model’s first major facelift since it was launched in 2019. At the front, it will get a new vertically positioned headlight cluster with integrated LEDs, a piano black grille, and a split-design bumper with a large central air intake.
Mahindra is trying to bring the XUV300’s design in line with the rest of the newer models like the XUV700. This will be evident, especially at the rear where it will feature a full-width LED lightbar, C-shaped LED tail lights, a resculpted boot lid, and an updated bumper. Other changes to the subcompact SUV will include matte black elements/inserts around the bumpers and side profile, and new alloy wheels.
The facelifted XUV300 will likely continue with the same powertrain options as the current model. This includes a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol or a 1.5-litre turbo diesel motor. The turbo-petrol is available in two states of tune, making 110 bhp with 200 Nm or 131 bhp with 230 Nm of peak torque. Meanwhile, the diesel pumps out 115 bhp with 300 Nm of max torque. Both manual and automatic transmission choices will be offered, the latter set to replace the AMT gearbox on the current model.
The latest reports suggest that Mahindra will introduce the XUV300 in India by early 2024. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
