Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch its first electric SUV, the eVX in the automotive market. The brand started testing the model overseas last year. Details about its exterior and interior have surfaced online several times. Now, the production-ready model has also been spied on European roads after showcasing the pre-production concept at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show. Ahead of its official launch in 2025, the production-ready avatar revealed a lot about the front fascia and other exterior design elements. Let's get more insights!
Based on the spy shots, the production-spec model seems to be more toned down compared to its concept model showcased earlier. From the design perspective, the eVX features sleek LED headlamps, a charging port on the front fender, LED DRLs, and uniquely designed 5-spoke alloy wheels. In terms of dimensions, it is 4300 mm long, 1800 mm wide, and 1600 mm tall.
Inside, the eVX will also get a dual-screen setup for touchscreen infotainment and digital instrumentation. A rotary controller will also be positioned on the centre control. Some of the noteworthy features include vertical AC vents, a flat-bottomed two-spoke steering wheel, a wireless charger, HUD, adjustable headrests, automatic climate control, and more.
Maruti Suzuki eVX will be based on the all-new skateboard platform. This platform is known as 27PL which is jointly developed by Toyota and Suzuki. The upcoming eVX is likely to get two battery options - 48kWh and 60kWh battery packs, offering an impressive range of over 400 km and 500 km, respectively, on a single charge. The electric SUV will also support Vehicle-to-Load capabilities and a fast charging system. It could also be available in both single and dual electric motor options.
The eVX will be produced locally at Suzuki's Gujarat-based manufacturing plant and will be exported to select international markets including Japan and Europe. Expect the electric SUV to be launched in 2025. Upon launch, it will become a challenger to the Hyundai Kona EV and MG ZS EV.
