The Wagon R has been a popular hatchback for Maruti Suzuki, and it has been updated several times with new features and looks. Recently, a test mule version of the vehicle was spotted testing once again suggesting that the company might be planning to update it in the coming future.
As visible via the spy picture, the rear profile of the 2024 Maruti Suzuki WagonR seems to be renewed. The test mule spotted featured a new design with horizontal plastic cladding, and the reflectors were positioned vertically on both sides. The tail lamps look similar to the current model but with a slightly updated blacked-out treatment.
Although there is not much information available about the changes for the front profile, we expect some visual updates there too. Maruti might also introduce a new design for the alloy wheels and update the interior for the facelifted version.
As for the powertrain, the upcoming Maruti WagonR is likely to carry forward the same engine options as before. This will include 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol options. A CNG alternative might also be on offer for the former engine while both versions will include a 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic gearboxes. Besides, Maruti Suzuki showcased a flex-fuel-powered Wagon R at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo, and it might be available on Indian roads by 2024.
