In partnership with JSW, MG Motor India aims to launch five new cars in our market by the end of 2025. First of these will be a Cloud EV which is currently being tested on Indian roads. Recently, the company has filed a design patent for another model named the Bingo hatchback. Currently, it is available on sale in China and the Philippines. But, it is now expected to be launched in the Indian market by next year. Upon launch, it will be a direct rival to Tata Tiago EV.
Globally, the Bingo EV is sold under the Wuling brand. MG will introduce this EV as a rebadged version in India. Design-wise, it is likely to feature X-shaped LED DRLs, a front-fender mounted charging port, projector headlamps, electrically adjustable ORVMs, blacked-out pillar, LED taillights, and steel wheels with wheel covers.
Moving on to the interior, the new MG hatchback is expected to get a three-tone interior theme, large dual screens on the dashboard, and a 2-spoke steering wheel. Other expected features include cruise control, a six-way electrically adjustable driver seat, chrome inserts, and an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function.
The Wuling Bingo-based MG Hatchback will be based on the Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform. This platform also underpins the MG Comet EV and will also be used for the upcoming Cloud EV.
Further, the India-spec Bingo is likely to be powered by two battery packs - 31.9 kWh and 37.9 kWh mated with an electric motor. Both variants can offer the claimed range of over 333 km and 410 km, respectively.
The new model will slot between the Comet EV and the upcoming Cloud EV. We believe it should cost somewhere between Rs 9 lakh to Rs 13 lakh. It will directly rival the Tata Tiago EV and could be an alternative to the Citroen eC3.
The 2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA comes with substantial changes in terms of styling, features and mechanics. Both ICE-powered and electric versions are revealed.
