MG Motor India has announced the start of bookings for the Comet EV in the Indian car market. Interested customers can now reserve their electric hatchback through the company official website or at any MG Motor authorized dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. The brand will start a phase wise delivery of the electric vehicle in the current month. The interesting part is that the automaker has made the delivery process transparent by launching a new feature 'Track and Trace' on the MyMG app. This feature enables the customers to track the booking status.
Apart from bookings, the MG Comet EV comes with an MG e-Shield ownership package that covers the repairs and service costs. This package provides 3 years or 1 lakh kilometer warranty, 3 free labour services (first 3 scheduled services), and 3 years of Roadside Assistance (RSA). The Comet EV's 17.3 kWh Li-ion battery also gets an 8 years or 1,20,000 kilometers warranty.
In addition, the electric hatchback is offered with the option of 80 extended warranty and service packages, starting at Rs 5,000. The company will offer its EV with the inaugural price, starting at Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model, Pace. The other two variants; Play and Plush will come with a price tag of Rs 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. This offer will be limited to the first 5,000 bookings only.
Furthermore, the British marquee is offering an optional buy-back program. By buying this package, customers are assured "buyback of 60 percent of the original ex-showroom value" at the end of 3 years. The company is also providing many easy service options including Service on call (Remote Assistance), DIY via MyMG app, service at home, and pickup/drop service.
