Gets more safety features; New exterior colour option; Cosmetic updates
MG Motors India has launched an updated version of its flagship 7-seater SUV, the Gloster in the country. Starting at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the four-wheeler is Rs 50,000 more expensive than the base outgoing model. In its latest avatar, the car gets feature additions and minor cosmetic enhancements.
One of the biggest changes on the outside is the addition of ‘Deep Golden’ colour to enhance the premiuness of the SUV. Other updates include new new British Windmill Turbine alloy wheels (only on the 4WD model) and a re-designed bumper (on the 2WD model). Excluding these changes, the car continues to remain the same with a big, brawny stance. In terms of tech, the car gets a new suite of i-SMART features that boasts of 75+ connected car features with 35+ hinglish commands. The service of this smart app has been extended to Android watch users as well.
Enhancing the safety of the four-wheeler, the company has updated its Level 1 ADAS suite to include Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Change Assist (LCA) and Door Open Warning (DOW). Like the MG Astor, the new model will now feature AI to help personalise and simplify search results for restaurants, hotels and more on the updated Discover App.
The updated MG Gloster will continue to come powered by the two diesel engine options. The first is a 2.0-litre unit with single turbo producing 163bhp while the other is 2.0-litre unit with twin turbo setup capable of churning 218bhp. The car will be available with RWD or AWD configurations mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. In addition, like the outgoing model, the new one will be available in 6 variants in 7/6 seat configuration.
