New Car Buying Platform
JSW MG Motor presented four EV-specific programmes to further their green movement during an event at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on Tuesday. From a unified charging platform to EV education, MG made its intention clear of shifting from conventional ICE technology to electric mobility. While it was highly anticipated that the car company would unveil its Windsor EV today, a source close to us stated that it is still two months away.
An industry-first charging platform network, eHUB was made to integrate various charging networks across the length and breadth of the country into one seamless interface, simplifying the charging process and enhancing convenience for EV owners. Within the app, you also get real-time updates and broad compatibility. eHUB aims to accelerate EV adoption and streamline access to charging stations.
MG has partnered with Delhi-based Lohum, specialising in the production of second-life batteries. Cobalt and lithium are recovered from batteries that cannot be reused. Lohum claims that if the battery materials are recycled properly, they can be used over and over again without any performance degradation. This is a huge leap forward as these rare Earth materials and expensive to procure.
As the name suggests, EVPEDIA is MG’s EV education platform for comprehensive and accessible resources to educate the public and promote their adoption. EVPEDIA is dedicated to providing reliable, accurate and engaging information about electric cars, their benefits and their impact on sustainability. “It is a comprehensive resource repository dedicated to accelerating India's journey towards a sustainable electric future,” EVPEDIA’s website states.
Jio, India’s largest integrated telecom service provider, has developed new-age vehicle connectivity by utilising a combination of hardware and software to enable users to access trending infotainment and real-time telematics on the move. Vehicle battery charging status and other key info can now be easily viewed on your smartphone with this initiative.
Jio President Kiran Thomas earlier stated, “We have been building an ecosystem of cutting-edge technology products and solutions for Indian users. Our partnership with MG Motor India is another important step in that journey. Jio’s eSIM, IOT and Streaming solutions will enable MG users to access real-time connectivity, infotainment, and telematics. It is a commitment to technological evolution in the automobile industry with innovation as its key pillar.”
