MG Motor India launched the Gloster SUV’s Desertstorm and Snowstorm series, with theme-based add-ons to its exterior and interior, on Tuesday. Staying true to the nomenclature, the former features a deep golden exterior with black highlights, while the latter gets a dual-tone black-and-white look. Powertrain options remain unchanged. Both the editions are priced at Rs. 41.04 lakh, ex-showroom. Notably, MG introduced the Blackstorm edition of the SUV last year.
During its launch, MG CCO Satinder Singh Bajwa said, “The Gloster has enjoyed popularity among Indian SUV enthusiasts for its design, space, premium features with unmatched comfort and convenience. We received positive response from premium SUV buyers for Gloster BLACKSTORM launched last year. And, today, we're delighted to announce another milestone with the launch of the new Gloster DESERTSTORM and SNOWSTORM, both of which underscore our pursuit of modernity and sophistication. The new Gloster STORM SERIES exemplifies our commitment to providing exceptional and distinctive experiences and offering high-tech features that maintain MG's legacy of being premium and bold.”
First up, the Gloster Desert storm, apart from the gold exterior bits, gets a blacked-out grille and alloy wheels with red callipers, red isle LED headlights and Highlands Mist tail lamps and fender garnish. The steering wheel is black as well with white stitching across. Its Snowstorm version adds red inserts to the headlamps and the bumpers are themed. Other bits include door handles and ORVMs in a black finish, window surround and fog lamp garnish. Interior, however, looks similar to its Storm sister.
The non-themed Gloster range begins at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 38.80 lakh, ex-showroom, powered by a twin-turbo 2-litre diesel mill churning out 163 hp, 375 Nm (2WD) and 218 hp, 480 Nm of pull force (4WD). Additionally, it is equipped with four-wheel drive and comes in six and seven-seat configurations. Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, leatherette upholstery, ventilated seats, 12.3-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof and powered tailgate are a few noteworthy features of the SUV.
