2023 New-Gen Mercedes-Benz GLC luxury SUV is all set to debut on June 1, 2022. The new model will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain and host of design changes.
Mercedes Benz India has shared a teaser image of the upcoming 2023 GLC, revealing the rear design of the luxury SUV. The SUV is all set to debut next month and will be offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain option. The vehicle is expected to undergo a major design transformation both on the inside and outside. Here is everything we know about the upcoming premium SUV.
2023 Mercedes Benz GLC Construction:
The New Mercedes Benz GLC will be based on the new MRA2 platform, similar to the latest generation C-Class. The new platform lends the GLC with efficient space utilisation allowing for a bigger cabin and boot space. In terms of overall dimensions, the 2023 model will be larger than the outgoing version on all fronts.
2023 Mercedes Benz GLC Design:
In terms of design, the new GLC will be an evolution of the outgoing model with major upgrades to both the interior and the exterior. The teaser image reveals a sleek LED tail light setup along with a new chrome strip that fills the width of the car. The roof spoiler is quite evident in appearance along with an air vent available in the rear bumper.
On the inside, it will get an all-new dashboard layout, borrowed from the new C-Class, along with a new steering wheel design. The SUV would come loaded with top-class features like an 11.9-inch infotainment system running on the latest MBUX software, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, navigation with augmented reality and multiple off-road modes. In addition, there will be Advanced Driver Assistance Systems like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and more. The optional driver package here will include four-wheel steering, adaptive damper and air suspension.
2023 Mercedes Benz GLC Powertrain:
Under the hood, the SUV will provide a new plug-in hybrid unit with an electric-only range of 100 kilometres. In addition, the car will also get 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options. All the powertrains will be equipped with a 48V mild-hybrid motor for enhanced fuel efficiency. The luxury SUV is expected to be offered in three trim levels for the Indian market, namely 200, 220d and 300d.
Expected to go on sale by the year end, the updated GLC will rival the likes of BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60 in its segment.
