Ahead of its September 9 launch, Korean carmaker Hyundai has revealed interior details regarding the Alcazar facelift. This comes after dope on the 6/7 seater SUV’s exterior was made official last week. A source tells us that some units have started arriving at dealerships with per-bookings open at a token of Rs. 25,000.
Hyundai Motor India COO Tarun Garg said, “The bold new Hyundai Alcazar has been meticulously crafted, offering robust design and comfort. With its commanding presence characterized by a bolder, taller, and wider stance, the bold new Hyundai Alcazar radiates grandeur and sophistication. The premium SUV now offers enhanced seat comfort and a splendid cabin, ensuring an unparalleled experience for passengers. The bold new Hyundai Alcazar stands out as an ideal choice for city commuters or long journeys.”
The upcoming Alcazar will feature a host of Creta-inspired elements - twin 10.25-inch screens including a touchscreen display for infotainment, a flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in leather and a dual-tone dashboard. Unlike the Creta’s black and grey cockpit, its elder sibling has been equipped with a dark blue and tan one.
Six-seater Alcazars see an increment of winged headrests for second-row occupants, ventilated first and second-row seats with thicker side bolsters and adjustable under-thigh support with this year’s facelift. Notably, the seven-seater Alcazar gets a bench seat in the middle but misses out on adjustable under-thigh support and winged headrests, instead of which cushions are offered. For easier ingress and egress to the third row, a seat tumble mechanism will be given.
Its fixed centre console stands deleted only to be replaced by individual armrests. Even the wireless charging pad has now been housed under rear air-con vents located at the back of the front centre console.
Besides a panoramic sunroof and aircraft-like retractable table and cup holders behind the front seats, Hyundai has also confirmed bits like automatic headlamps, Level 2 ADAS, drive and traction modes, electronic parking brake and over 70 connected car features.
According to a brochure from Hyundai, the 6/7 seater will come with a similar pair of engines - 1.5 turbo petrol and 1.5 diesel - which will be offered across four trims. Power and torque specifications of the former and latter are 158bhp/ 253Nm and 114bhp/ 250Nm, respectively. Of the total four trims, the Executive and Prestige variants will be up for grabs with a 6-speed manual gearbox, whereas Platinum and Signature variants will also sport a 7-speed DCT unit.
