The compact sedan segment recently got a new lease on life with the generational shift of two popular models – the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Honda Amaze. Both models come with significantly improved styling and more upmarket features. While the new Maruti Dzire receives a more frugal 1.2L Z-Series petrol engine, the 2025 Honda Amaze retains the tried-and-tested 1.2L NA petrol motor. Compared to their predecessors, the new-generation models have more features on board. However, both compact sedans have an edge over each other when compared in terms of features. Let’s take a look at the extra features the new Dzire offers over the new Amaze.
One of the major highlights of the new Maruti Dzire is the single-pane sunroof that’s reserved for the top-end ZXi+ trim. The ZXi+ manual and AMT variants are available at Rs 9.69 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh, respectively. The new Amaze misses out on this feature. However, its higher ZX trim comes with the Honda Sensing ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite, including adaptive cruise control. The manual version costs Rs 9.70 lakh, and the ZX CVT trim is priced at Rs 10.90 lakh.
Buyers of the new Dzire can get TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) from its ZX trim onwards. It has sensors that monitor tyre pressure and transmit the information to the vehicle’s computer, which processes the data and displays it on the dashboard. The TPMS indicator shows a yellow warning light if tyre pressure is low. The Amaze lacks the TPMS, but it can be fitted aftermarket.
A 360-degree camera is exclusively offered on the top-end ZXi+ trim of the new Dzire. This system uses multiple cameras mounted on the front grille, under the side mirrors, rear bumper, and roof to provide a panoramic view of the vehicle’s surroundings. It offers a 360-degree view around the car and helps the driver park the car in tight parking spots and avoid accidents. With the new Honda Amaze, you get the Honda LaneWatch camera with blind-spot detection, which offers a surround view of the car.
The new Maruti Dzire comes with a bigger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. However, it’s available only on the ZXi+ trim. The lower trims get a 7-inch unit. The new Amaze offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit right from the entry-level V trim.
The Dzire ZXi+ trim is equipped with footwell lighting, providing better visibility around the driver and passengers’ feet area. It’s placed on the vehicle’s floor, close to the pedals.
