New Maruti Suzuki Swift is all set to be launched on 9 May 2024. It will be offered in five variants; LXi, VXi, VXI (O), ZXi, and ZXi+. Ahead of the launch, the mid-range variants named VXI and VXI (O) of the upcoming Swift have been spotted. Let’s see what we can expect from these variants.
The leaked images of the mid-level VXI and VXI (O) variants were shared by Auto Addicts and Wheels Escort in the form of a walkaround.
Based on the walkaround images, the updated hatchback is expected to offer a redesigned front grille finished in piano black, projector halogen headlamp setup, halogen turn indicators, turn indicators-equipped ORVMs, body-cloured door handles, and manual key start functionality. It will run on 14-inch alloy wheels while its top-spec variant is expected to get 16-inch alloy wheels.
Moving on to the interior, the 2024 Swift will highlight an all-black dashboard, fabric seats, a 7-inch infotainment screen, a defogger, and automatic climate control.
In terms of safety, the upcoming Swift could offer six airbags as standard across all its variants.
Talking about its powertrain, the hatchback will introduce an all-new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated Z-Series petrol engine. This lighter engine can produce a maximum power of 82 bhp and 108 Nm of torque. With mild-hybrid technology, the power will be boosted. Transmission jobs will be handled by a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. Additionally, the new Maruti Swift will offer a claimed range of 22.56 kmpl for automatic while its manual variant will deliver 22.38 kmpl of fuel efficiency.
Expected to launch this week, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift could be priced between Rs 6.24 lakh to Rs 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the rivals, it will compete with Tata Tiago and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
