New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class launch date is 3rd March 2022
The ultra-luxury saloon segment in India will witness the launch of New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class on the 3rd of March 2022. Based on the new V223 S-Class offering a longer wheelbase, this Maybach will provide an enhanced exterior design and plush interiors over the standard version. Expected to be made available in two variants namely S 580 and S 680, the price of 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class should start from Rs 2 crore plus. Made in India, it will be manufactured locally in the country thereby reducing its price tag drastically in comparison to a full import.
From a design point of view, expect the luxury limousine to offer Maybach upgrades over the standard S-Class. These would include the signature Maybach grille followed by a new alloy wheel design, use of chrome throughout the profile of the vehicle and the Maybach logo placed on the C-pillar. Like the exterior, the interior too will be upgraded with Maybach relevant touches. Premium upholstery, trim inserts, specific graphics for both the touchscreen and digital instrument cluster will make their way in here. Instead of 5 seats, the car will be offered with a 4 seat layout with full-length floor console right in the middle. Rear powered seats, massage function and more will be part of the long feature list provided in this vehicle.
Powertrain options expected to come with the 2022 Mercedes Maybach S-Class would be a 4.0-litre V8 (S 580) and a 6.0-litre V12 (S 680) engine. The S 580 is expected to deliver 503 bhp of maximum power output with 700 Nm of peak torque. Equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system its performance can be further improved with an additional push of 20 bhp and 200 Nm torque. While the S 680 would produce a whooping 612 bhp of power with 900 Nm torque. Both variants will be fitted with a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard.
